We're gearing up for the biggest trip we've done this year. Over a three week period we will be at 4 different events in 3 different states and traveling over 6,000 kilometres to see you all. Starting from November 23 I will be headed over to Sydney for the Big Design Market (November 24- 26), then briefly back to Perth to restock before jumping back on a plane to Victoria for the Melbourne leg of the Big Design Market (December 1 - 3). At the same time that I will be in Melbourne our WA fans can catch Adam at Fremantle Bazzar. Just to add to the madness we'll be heading BACK to Sydney for The Finders Keepers on December 8 - 10!
I'm looking forward to seeing you all in Sydney or Melbourne and if you're in WA make sure to head to Freo Bazzar to say hi to Mr Hammered!
Over the last 7 months we have been hard at work updating our packaging and we'd like to introduce you to two very talented ladies that helped us to get there.
Meet Leah from Studio Bomba - Graphic Designer Extrodinaire
Studio Bomba is a creative consultancy, big on curiosity and collaboration. Bomba works with businesses to shape their look and feel for the first time. And also when re-introducing themselves, or a new product or service, to the market. We geek out on design for brands, packaging, publications, promotions and spaces – all of the moments when companies and clients bump up against one another for mutual goodness. Some of best known work has been for clients such as Fringe World Perth, Rooftop Movies, Vasse Felix Wines, Silvana Coffee and homegrown projects including Mitchell & Dent and First Comes Love.
Working with Hammered is always fun and when Bomba was invited to partner with them on a new packaging solution as flexible as their product is, it was a no-brainer! Bec and Adam are renowned for their ‘high-design meets DIY’ approach and the packaging needed to work in that world too. We developed a standard box that can be customised to fit each one of their kits, protecting the premium leathers and hardware, but also able to be opened instore so folks can see quality of the leather kits and get a real feel for the heirloom-quality item they’re about to handcraft.
Meet Holly - Taker of Awesome Imagery
To compliment the awesome new boxes designed by Leah we needed some equally awesome photography to match it; enter Holly:
I am a wife, mother of three and a photographer living in the beautiful south-west town of Margaret River.
I'm addicted to all things photography and even after almost 7 years in business, I still spend many of my days studying the craft. Ever since high school I've enjoyed picking up a camera but it wasn't until I had my first child and my mum gifted me with a new camera, that I found my digital voice.
As a mum, I understand the importance of capturing life's fleeting moments and keeping those memories strong forever. I love connecting with couples and families who allow me to show who they really are, people who are happy to truly be themselves in front of my camera. I want you to be able to relive how you felt at that moment all over again and I want you to be able to share those moments with generations to come.
Named after my Dad, Henry is the toiletries bag that every man should own. Angular in its appearance, with a unique zip free top, it brings together the best of form and function. Large enough to really pack it in for long or short stays or something luxurious for your home bathroom to an everyday workhorse for the regular traveler. Seeing Henry when you wake up in the morning is a reinforcement that you can do great things and there people whom you will see again soon that love you very much.
Henry has so many uses not just for men. It makes a great project bag for crafters, make up bag for women or a great clutch for going out.
Henry is definitely for the keeper of all sorts of things.

Building on the success of our 42mm wrist watch kit we're excited to introduce TWO new watch options;
the Classic 36 White and the Thirty Six Black. These new watch faces are available now and offer a smaller, lighter and sleeker look for those wanting a smaller wrist watch kit option.
To help you decide which size you prefer we've broken down the details of the Original 42mm vs the new 36mm.
Here she is. You named her and Mabel is now ready to officially meet the world.
A creative collaboration between Sonia from Dandelyne and Bec from Hammered Leatherworks, Mabel has been created to solve a common problem "Where are my scissors?". An issue all creatives are faced with on a regular basis we are sure. Mabel is the result of our combined minds to help simplify your world by bringing your scissors and needles into the closest of reaches. Her bold colours are not just for fun but to help in finding her when she is not hanging around your neck. Meet Sonia and learn more about Dandelyne on our blog.
Mabel is the nifty sewer's companion. Her job is to give your sharp scissors a home with a cuddly 100% wool felt pin cushion to keep your needles safe! (Nothing worse than them disappearing into the carpet!) The full grain leather pieces ensure your scissor points are safe and secure from doing or getting damaged while the adjustable neck strap is comfortable, light weight and durable. Mabel looks great with any scissors and fits almost all embroidery scissors and snips. The scissors shown here are designed by Paula Sibbald in Canada and we have just a few available for purchase too for an additional $20.
This first release of Mabel is limited to 10 kits in each colourway and come with a 40mm Dandelyne mini embroidery hoop to celebrate!

Here it is and we are almost over the line for our first limited run. We just need your help! Starting with a name...
Not long after I started out helping about the place here at Hammered, I managed to talk Bec into letting me get my mits on a tan leather wrist watch kit. I’m a graphic designer by trade so I tend to like clean and minimalistic designs; something classy that I can knock around with day to day as well as dress up when called for. Prior to getting my wrist watch kit I tended to favour large watches with metal bands that while looked stylish did have a fair weight behind them and as a result only got worn on the odd occasion so I was pretty stoked with how light my wrist watch kit has been as well as how soft the leather of the watch band is.
What blew me away was the actual making of the watch. It really couldn’t have been simpler…
I had never sewn very much before and the only instructions I had was from the online instructional videos that everyone else uses so I had no real idea of how long it was actually going to take me. I initially only intended to stitch one of the bands the first night I got the kit but next thing you know it was less than an hour later and I had the whole project knocked out and completed.
My watch is getting daily use and to be honest I forget it’s there on my wrist at times. Now I’ve just got to talk Bec into letting me pilfer one of those oh so classy travel wallets…
Until next time all,

Any Dad would be super happy with any of the above but the Fogarty family favourites are the Wrist Watch, Key Hoodie and Poppys Pouch.
Happy Hunting xoxo Bec

New stockists joined us for Clifford card wallet sew alongs YAY. Soon there will be new packaging rolling out making our kits just thaat much more liftable! We launched new products like Henry... more on him to come and added to our very popular wrist watch range.
